The City of Hill Country Village has contracted with MyGovernmentOnline to provide fully digital, web-based permitting and plan review services. All contractor registrations, residential/commercial permit applications, plan reviews, certificates of occupancy, and inspection requests are now submitted online at MyGovernmentOnline. With the exception of alarm, garage sale, estate sale, peddlers, golf cart permit, and variance request applications, which can be found in the side bar.

No person shall erect or construct, add to or structurally alter, or proceed with the erection, construction or structural alteration of any building or structure, a property line fence or wall, a swimming pool, a tennis court, or a stable, nor shall they add to, enlarge, move, convert or extend any building or structure or cause the same to be done in any district of the city without first applying for and obtaining a building permit therefor from the city administrator or his designated agent. All applications for such permits shall be in accordance with the requirements of this chapter and all applicable building codes and, unless upon written order by the board of adjustment, no building permit or certificate of occupancy shall be issued where the construction, addition, alteration or use thereof would be in violation of such ordinance and codes. Where applicable, no building permit shall be issued without first obtaining a septic tank system permit required by chapter 62. The fee accompanying all applications for building permits shall be established from time to time by the city council.

INSPECTIONS
To submit a permit application or schedule an inspection, visit MyGovernmentOnline.
Next day inspection requests must be submitted before 3:30 p.m. the previous business day.
Inspections are conducted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Inspections are conducted to ensure that a project is in compliance with City ordinances and state regulations. The initial inspection costs are included in the permit fee. Inspector’s will call from an unlisted/private number. Please ensure that the point of contact for the inspection answers all calls the day of inspection.

At the completion of each inspection, the Inspector will upload inspection results on MyGovernmentOnline. The status of all your inspections, permits, and plan reviews can be viewed by accessing your Account -> My Permits -> View -> Requirements. If your inspection requires a correction, that item must be corrected and re-inspected again for compliance before the project can proceed. If an inspection has failed, a $120.00 re-inspection fee will be due. The re-inspection fee must be paid prior to rescheduling the re-inspection.

(a) The 2015 editions of the following codes are adopted and are applicable within the corporate limits of the City of Hill Country Village.

(1) International Building Code;
(2) International Residential Code for One and Two Family Dwellings;
(3) International Plumbing Code;
(4) International Mechanical Code;
(5) International Energy Conservation Code;
(6) International Fuel Gas Code; and
(7) International Fire Code.

(b) The 2017 edition of the National Electrical Code is adopted and is applicable within the corporate limits of the City of Hill Country Village.
